1. Adopt at least one neglected veteran's grave in a local cemetery.
2. Edge around the stone if it’s a flat headstone.
3. Trim the grass neatly within a couple feet of the stone.
4. Place a serviceable flag (preferably made in the USA) next to the grave. Be sure to follow the cemetery’s policy regarding grave decorations.
5. Maintain the grave as your schedule and budget permit.
6. Retire all unserviceable flags properly, or drop them off at your local VFW hall.
7. Search online for information about your adopted veteran, and send your findings to the webmaster so that we can publish it on the site.
8. Above all, participate in this project with reverence and humility. Do not seek praise, notoriety or monetary gain, whether personal, for your organization or company.
